Because Callie is a friend and she would indeed expect Joe to write a positive story, he should turn her down; it's not appropriate for him to promote anything, especially for an acquaintance. Perhaps as a potential compromise, he could have a neutral co-worker write the story instead.
i think he should write a story about the new club but he doesn't have to show his opinion in the article.
Ok, Journalists should be free of any obligation to any interest other than public's right to know. However, it is a friend, so the least you could do is help her promote the club. You don't have to make it positive, it just can't be negative.
Joe should introduce her to some of the other reporters so she can ask them. He has a biased opinion because he is her friend so it wouldn't be honest writing if he did.
I think he should not post the commercial of her new nightclub. It is just too private thing and just for her own benefit.
i do think that helping out a friend is great. But if he can't choose for himself, then maybe he shouldn't write it. he should be able to voice his own opinion... but maybe in a more positive way...
He could just announce that there is a new nightclub being opened in the city and he is not making it look good or bad so no biggie.
He should write the article because it is his friend, but he shouldn't lie and say it is great even if it isn't. He could just write about the facts and interview her isteand of voicing his own opinions
